Minecraft modder somehow stuffs Super Mario 64 into information technology

I forever consider I can ne'er be to a greater extent impressed with all the madly precooled stuff modders do with games these days, but one person managing to stuff Extremely Mario 64 into Minecraft has proven me wrong.

Programmer, modder and self-professed 'weird projects' creator Dylan tweeted down his work-in-progress, and information technology's simultaneously dramatic and unintentionally hilarious. The old, blocky Mario model fits ace well into Minecraft's world in a direction I'd never considered. Watching him zap around sucker-punching everything in sight doesn't feel quite as harmonious, but I do appreciate seeing a small Italian plumber attempt to take push down an Enderman with his bare hands.

Dylan says the mod is using the "genuine Mario64 engine," thanks to a few assorted projects with the game's author cypher. Don't expect to be able to examine information technology out for yourself anytime soon though, unfortunately. Nintendo's relationship with winnow projects is a rocky one, and Dylan says he "sadly can't assure a download, either forthwith or in the proximo," but promises to "post whacky videos" of the mod in action. It's a shame that we likely won't be able to give IT a go ourselves, but understandable considering how quickly Nintendo would pull out the fireplug.

Minecraft's community have always been a clever and creative bunch, but the end few weeks particularly has produced any fantastic mods and genius. On that point's been a texture pack that gives all blocks a Lego set makeover, and a cool as hell mod that lets you tame and ride dragons. My favourite is the unequivocal wizard who managed to create a hone circle in-game, no mods required (though there is a dizzying amount of maths.)

Mollie Taylor

A fresh writer in the industry, Molly has been taken subordinate Personal computer Gamer's RGB-laden wing, making sure she doesn't elevate to overmuch devilment on the website. She's not quite sure what a Control & Subdue is, but she fanny rattle along for hours about all the obscure rhythm method games and strange MMOs from the 2000s. She's been cooking up all manner of news program, previews and features spell she's been Hera, but especially enjoys when she gets to pen about Final Fantasy, Persona, The Sims, and some early game she's currently hopelessly fixated on. There's a pleasing chance she's boring another PC Gamer writer about her a la mode fixation as we speak.
